2000 Grape Pest Management Guide now availableThe newly revised 2000 Pest Management Guide for Wine Grapes in Oregon is now available. The guide provides season-long disease and insect control recommendations. The new guide includes extensive revisions to the "Example Strategies" for powdery mildew control and botrytis bunch rot control. We have many different fungicide products to use, particularly for powdery mildew; the guide catagorizes the products by their type of activity, relative efficacy, and role (primary or supplemental) in a control program. An airblast sprayer calibration worksheet is also included to help you prepare your sprayer for accurate applications. If you are on the Oregon Wine Advisory Board mailing list, you should have received a copy. If you have not received a copy, you may request one to be mailed to you by contacting Ed Hellman at the North Willamette Research & Extension Center. Phone 503-678-1264 ext. 26 The Guide is also available online at the following address: http://eesc.orst.edu/agcomwebfile/edmat/em8413.pdf The online version is in pdf format, which means it is identical to the printed version, but is slow to load on your computer. Another version of the guide, in standard html format, is being prepared and will be posted soon. The html format is much quicker to load, prints out nicely, and has links to additional disease control information. I will put a notice in this newsletter when the html version is online. |
